I attended an event a few days ago and one speaker talked about the countries of the world, the economies across the world and the demographics of many countries.
As I listened to the Speaker, I began thinking about where I'm living and have been living for more than 50 years. In my quietness and self reflection, gratitude came over me. Wow, how fortunate I am!
I noticed that demographics were killing Countries in Asia and Europe, illness was rampant in many Countries where medical care is lacking and many economies are struggling and jobs and earnings were going backward rather than upward.
It then became abundantly clear to me that I'm living in the greatest Country and City on the planet! How fortunate can one person be? My Country and City have not been invaded by a foreign country, I'm free to do almost anything I want to do, I can vote, and I'm considered innocent until proven guilty in a fair trial.
Also, in my city, I haven't experienced a tsunami, a hurricane, a tornado, a flood, a forest fire and many other things. I'm healthy, have physicians that are unbelievable and I have a job, freedom to perform it as I want and an economy that is booming! I could be the most fortunate person on the planet.
My biggest challenge is to stop listening to broadcasts on TV, Radio, the Internet, my Phone and anywhere else that is bombarding me with "news" that's not true and is probably just an opinion.
