I just passed Christmas and I'm about to start a New Year! What difference does that make? It doesn't! Because, everyday is the beginning of a new year.
What will make the difference for me beginning tomorrow, December 28? It'll be me! I'll be the same person I was yesterday and the world will be the same as it was yesterday. So, what do I do?
My thought is I must be very Aware of myself, my feelings/emotions and the world around me because the only thing I can control is myself... sometimes. I can notice what's going on with me, what's going on around me and make good choices. Otherwise, I'll find myself whining, complaining and blaming. None of these are good strategies for progress and/or happiness.
If this is the case, what is the solution? In my younger years, I thought it was my IQ. Today, I believe it's my emotional intelligence, my agility and my adaptability! I know I must remember what I want and what price I'm willing to pay to get it, be agile and adaptable so I can move toward the target.
I also must remember that "success" is a process and be willing to stay with the process and enjoy the journey. One step at a time and minute by minute will get me there.
