Unprepared or Prepared?

Wow, that's an interesting question and what does it really mean?

I've seen/heard a lot of complaining/blaming of the Federal Government, Trump, Governors, Mayors and many others for not being "prepared" for the Virus. Probably Obama and Bush could be included in this group because I'm sure they should have been prepared!

The thing I'm wondering is What responsibility do you and I have in the situation?

I was never in the Boy Scouts and my parents taught me to be prepared so at an early age, I started to save and I was good at that and they also taught me to give and fortunately my wife is good with this principle.

Over the past few years, I've focused on being prepared emotionally. Of course, I need to be prepared for financial issues and other physical challenges and even if I'm "secure" in these areas, my attitude/optimism is important because my bank account won't be very helpful if I'm fearful and pessimistic. In the past few weeks, I've seen some wealthy, highly educated people exhibit some behavior that's not helping themselves, their families or their employees because of Fear.

I've done a lot of walking in the park behind my home in the last few days and gained confidence in human beings. Most wave at me and have a big smile when I return the wave. I'm also noticing people helping other people without charging them. I'm encouraged by what I notice in the human race.

Someone smart once said "All is right when the mind is Right" and I know when I'm breathing deeply, not afraid, aligned with my values, optimistic about the future, I'm generally unstoppable. Victim thinking has never worked for me.

These times are not about IQ!

These times are about I Can AND I Will! The question is do I have the Will?

What about you?

  • How is your mental/emotional preparedness when times are difficult?
  • What are you noticing about yourself on a daily basis?
  • If you could take one action, what would that be?
  • How optimistic are you about your future even in challenging times?
  • How are you encouraging your family, neighbors and employees?
